CAN I SEE ONE OF YOUR MODEL HOMES?

Brookmont Homes specializes in building custom homes. No two homes are the same and we don't expect your dream home to be the same as anyone else's. You are welcome to schedule a visit to see one the homes we have built and to ask the customer about the quality of construction several years after they have moved in.

CAN WE USE OUR OWN ARCHITECT?

Yes. We can work with your architect to build your custom home. If you don't have an architect already, you are welcome to meet with our architects to discuss your plans, budget, and timeline.

ARE THERE ANY ZONING RESTRICTIONS ON MY LOT?

Check with Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services or  the Fairfax County Zoning Ordinance web pages for the latest rules and regulations.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A NEW HOME?

This depends on the size and complexity of the project. The experience of having built of 200 homes allows us to build custom homes within 6 to 8 months after the permits have been issued.

HOW DO I PAY FOR THE WORK AS IT PROGRESSES?

If you have a construction loan, an advance will be made to the owner of the lot for the price of the lot and quite often an advance is given for the permitting process and site work. As the work progresses, draws will be made to pay for work that has been completed and passes inspection.  Anywhere from 4 to 6 draws are made during the construction process, depending on the bank that provides the financing.

HOW DO I KNOW THE WORK PERFORMED MEETS LOCAL SAFETY REGULATIONS?

There are several inspections made by the local building inspector, typically the foundation is inspected first, then the framing, then the plumbing and electrical prior to the insulation and drywall going up. At each inspection, the building inspector signs off on the approval and this is recorded in the permit box that is located on the site. Moreover, the construction loan officer must have a copy of the inspections before making any loan disbursements.
